Our 12 acres of property borders a portion of the Kiamichi River. River access for our guests whether lodging on-site or not, is dependent on safe river levels. The Kiamichi River becomes unsafe for access if we’ve experienced lots of heavy rains recently. Our river level drops quickly, so even if it’s too high one day, the next day it could be safe.
We have trails on our property which provide good access to an awesome gravel bar area. The gravel bar area is the perfect place to put in kayaks or tubes to float the river or fish. If you have never used a kayak before, they are much easier to maneuver than canoes and here at River Bird Lodging, is a great place to try kayaking.
A release of liability and payment are required before kayak or tube use and renters are responsible for returning the kayaks, paddles, life jackets &/or tubes they use. Cash or credit accepted.
On-site lodging guests can set up rentals when you arrive or during your stay, but do give Niki a quick text at 940.453.6604 to let us know you are interested in either kayaking and/or tubing, so we can coordinate with other guests.
For guests not lodging at RBL, you will need to call or text to reserve or check availability of kayaks or tubes and give us an estimated arrival time. A non-refundable deposit may be required.
On-site lodging guests have priority for kayak and tube rental availability.
